YouTube star Cory DeVante William, known as CoryxKenshin, caused quite a stir when he announced that he was deleting his channel which has a whopping 14.7 million followers.

The video titled Deleting My YouTube Channel came after his previous video where he said that if he was unable to post the entirety of his Resident Evil Village DLC video before its October 28 release, he would delete his channel.

Since he was unable to do so he went through with the disastrous consequences but before doing so he gave an explanation to his followers.

He went on to reveal that his mother’s nail salon caught on fire and among other financial hardships, he had to step in for his family and friends which he did not elaborate much on.

The situation, according to him, left him feeling demotivated which did not allow him to complete his task.

"In this stage in my life I just really suck at keeping promises to my YouTube community. I don’t know why. A lot of stuff happened that wasn’t in my control, but I definitely — there’s no excuse at the end of the day. I definitely could have powered through what was going on and got the series uploaded like I said."

However, it does end with a twist, while he is seen deleting his YouTube channel he went on to share that he deleted his personal one, not his professional one.

"I said deleting my channel. I didn’t say which one," he said through a fit of laughter.
