Amou Haji, a recluse dubbed 'the world’s dirtiest man', died at 94, months after his first bath in decades.
The Iranian refused to use soap and water for more than half a century due to fears that it would make him sick.
He also avoided attempts by local villagers to clean him up.
However, he eventually bent to their pressure and took his first wash a few months ago however, per IRNA, he fell ill shortly after and eventually died.
His grimy state was such the extent that his skin was covered in “soot and pus” and that his diet consisted of rotten mean and unsanitary water.
