Sir Elton John and Prince Harry sue Daily Mail over 'privacy breach'

According to a statement released on Thursday by the law firm Hamlins, Prince Harry, Elton John, and a select few others have apparently filed a lawsuit against the Daily Mail newspaper's publisher, alleging phone-tapping and other privacy violations.

The group, which also includes the Duke of Sussex, Elizabeth Hurley, Sadie Frost, Elton John, David Furnish, and Doreen Lawrence, is aware of information implicating Associated Newspapers in privacy violations.

They claimed that the publisher had installed listening devices in people's cars and residences and had paid to have live, private phone calls bugged.

According to the statement, gunnercooke is handling Lawrence, Hurley, John, and Furnish, while Hamlins is representing Frost and Meghan's husband.

In the past, Harry and his bride Meghan Markle have cited media intrusion as a key reason for their choice to leave the royal family. After getting married in 2018, their relationship with Britain's tabloid press broke down.
