People have become desensitised to disturbing news, says Ukrainian-born Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis has recently addressed the rise of the insensitivity in the world regarding Russia’s invasion in Ukraine at the premiere of Luckiest Girl Alive.

Speaking to Page Six, the Ukrainian-born actress noted, “I think lots of things get normalised. And that’s the unfortunate truth of the times that we’re living in.”

The Golden Globe nominee believed that people have become numb by the influx of “depressing news”.

“We’ve normalised a lot of news reports, and we become desensitised to a lot of things that are happening in the world,” commented the 39-year-old.

Talking about the impact of invasion on other globe events, Mila explained, “I think this, more specifically than maybe other wildfires that are happening in the world right now, would have a catastrophic effect on democracy.”

“Not to take away what is happening in Iran and other places. It’s really hard right now,” she added.

Meanwhile, the actress and her husband, Ashton Kutcher, set up a GoFundMe page for Ukrainians in March.
