Whoopi Goldberg speaks out against Netflix’s Jeffrey Dahmer series

Whoopi Goldberg has recently slammed Ryan Murphy’s Jeffrey Dahmer Monster series on Netflix.

According to Independent, the streaming service released the “controversial” series last week, which tells the story of Dahmer (played by Evan Peters) who murdered 17 men and boys between years 1978 and 1991.

In 1991, Dahmer was arrested and after three years later, he was murdered in prison.

In the recent episode of The View, Goldberg spoke up about how these shows can have bad effect on victims’ families.

“Ryan Murphy is an amazing artist. If that were my family, I’d be enraged,” argued Goldberg.

She continued, “Because it is being killed over and watching your child get killed, and then you have to listen to how it went and all this other stuff that, as a person who’s lost someone like that, it’s just – you can’t imagine.”

“Over and over and over! I think, if you’re gonna tell these stories, be aware that a lot of the people who are part of these stories are still with us,” stated the show’s co-host.

Meanwhile, one of the victims’ relative Rita Isbelle, whose brother was murdered by Dahmer, called out the series and remarked, “I feel like Netflix should’ve asked if we mind or how we felt about making it. They didn’t ask me anything. They just did it.”

“It’s sad that they’re just making money off of this tragedy. That’s just greed,” she added.
