Lara Trump slammed for leaving 5-year-old son out in Hurricane Ian

Lara Trump’s motherhood is being questioned.

After uploading a video of her five-year-old son operating a toy car in the rain as Hurricane Ian pummeled Florida to Instagram, Lara Trump received backlash.

Eric Trump, Lara's husband, and their little son Eric, also known as Luke, reside in Jupiter, Florida. Before Hurricane Ian, a Category 4 hurricane with gusts of up to 140 mph, makes landfall today, the area has been battered by intense rain and winds.

Luke is seen in the video driving his toy car in the pouring rain while covering his eyes and clenching his knees.

'Thought we had a clear window, turns out we did some character building instead,' Lara wrote in the caption. 'Stay safe everyone!'

Lara is audible encouraging her son, saying: 'Oh my God, Luke. Come on, you can do it, let's go.'

The backlash started as soon as other Twitter users started sharing the video.

'I don't know what's worse - that she did this to him, or that she filmed it and then posted it as some sort of brag,' one user wrote.

'I noticed she's probably filming under an umbrella,' one scoffs. 'Maybe she already has enough character.'
