Director Bassam Tariq exits his directorial position for Marvel's 'Blade'

Bassam Tariq stepped down from his position as the director of Marvel’s Blade prior two months before the start of production.

American film director, Bassam Tariq exited his role as the director of Marvel’s upcoming movie Blade which came as shocking news for the industry as the production was just about to begin in November.

Although Tariq will no longer be leading Blade, some internal sources claim that the project and his position as the executive director would still remain very close to his heart.

"It’s been an honor working with the wonderful folks at Marvel. We were able to put together a killer cast and crew. Eager to see where the next director takes the film,” Tariq said in a statement, confirming his exit as director.

According to Variety, it’s still not clear how Tariq’s departure would impact the production timeline for the film as its release date is set to be November 3, 2023.
