Hailey Bieber infuriates POC community after 'creating' viral brownie glazed lip trend

Hailey Bieber is receiving flack after she was credited for creating a viral beauty trend called "brownie glazed lips".

However, this newfound trend, consisting of using dark brown lip liner and gloss, is synonymous to a look that women of colour have been rocking for decades.

The backlash first started by influencer @makeupbymonicaa who pointed out how Bieber, a white woman, could easily make something go viral while women who have been rocking the look for years and years get no recognition for it.

"Y'all sh*t on my lips every single time I post, but a white woman does it, it's going to become a trend. It's going to be praised upon," she said. 

"And yeah, I'm so flattered that Hailey Bieber always gets inspired by my community, by the POC community. But it just hurts me because she's done it now, it's gonna become so trendy."
