Charlize Theron recently explained how her journey to fame has been a “mediocre ride” over the years
In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar for October cover story, the Atomic Blonde actress spoke up on how she had never received global attention to the same degree as the reality TV superstar despite working for over 25 years in the entertainment industry.
“I feel like I am at a place where it is what it is. Working more isn't, I think, going to change my level of fame,” said the 47-year-old.
The Young Adult star continued, “I've never been one of those people that's at a Kim Kardashian level. But I feel like it's just always been this thing.”
Theron noted that her popularity might have impacted on what projects she would do in the past but now motherhood had changed her perspective in life.
“I will say, back in the day, it used to be like, you want to have some of this fame so you can do or make what you really want to make,” remarked the actress.
“However,” she added, “Now it's like, I pitch all day long and people are like, ‘No, thanks.’ I am like, ‘I guess that’ not cash in the bank anymore.' And that’s nice.”
Theron also told outlet that these days it’s all about motherhood and cooking the best food for her “adopted” daughters.
