Queen Elizabeth was ‘very hurt’ by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, claims new ‘royals’ book

The late Queen Elizabeth II was “hurt and exhausted” because of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to quit royal life in 2020.

According to The New York Post, Katie Nicholl, the author of upcoming book The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown, revealed that the late monarch spilled to her friend that she “was exhausted by the turmoil of Harry and Meghan’s decision”.

“She was very hurt,” claimed a confidante of the late monarch.

The late Queen lamented, “I don’t know, I don’t care, and I don’t want to think about it anymore,” as mentioned in the book that’s going to be released next month.

The royal author also noted, “it was a source of sadness to the Queen that she got to see so little of Archie and Lilibet.”

Reportedly, the late Queen spent only 15 minutes with Prince Harry’s children when they came back in the UK for her platinum jubilee celebrations in June.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry in his farewell statement to his late grandmother expressed happiness that she got the opportunity to hug “her great-grandchildren” before her demise.
