James Bond Producers Barbara Broccoli And Michael G. Wilson were honoured with the Will Rogers Pioneer Of The Year Award with Daniel Craig beside them to support.
Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation held their Pioneer of the year dinner on Wednesday, September 21, and honoured James Bond franchise producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. Previously Elizabeth Banks had been receiving the Pioneer Of The Year Award since 2019.
The event was held at the Beverley Hilton Ballroom and the evening was sponsored by MGM, United Artists Releasing, and Amazon Studios.
According to Variety, James Bond himself, Daniel Craig flew to the event to salute a pair he called “family”, previously he wasn't able to attend the dinner due to production schedules. Daniel Craig presented the trophy along with presenter Michelle Yeoh.
James Bond production executive Jonathan Glickman, who worked on several Bond movies, shared of Wilson and Broccoli. He said Wilson's belief was "Never let temporary people make permanent decisions" and Broccoli always said, "Don’t let them muck it up."
Sam Smith was also present at the event and lighted up the evening with the Oscar-winning Bond song, The Writing’s On The Wall.
Will Rogers Pioneer Of The Year Award is presented since 1947 and its first-ever recipient was Hungarian-American film producer and one of the three founders of Paramount Pictures, Adolph Zukor.
