Will Smith and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy are going to be a part of the Paramount Pictures production, Brilliance.

Four-time Emmy- and two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is going to make her narrative feature directorial debut on Brilliance, which is an adaptation of the Marcus Sakey novel.

As per Deadline, Will Smith will be producing the film, and he is also rumoured to star but sources reveal that the actor hasn't committed to star in the movie.

Smith is producing the film through his company, Westbrook Studios and Akiva Goldsman has written the script for the movie.

Brilliance is centered around Nick Cooper, a federal agent who works for the Department of Analysis and Response and is tasked with tracking dowing abnorms, children with special gifts, and eliminating criminal abnorms who use their gifts for the ill of society.

Obaid-Chinoy is a celebrated director, famous for directing her Oscar-winning documentary films Saving Face, A Girl in the River, and The Price of Forgiveness. Her most recent project is Ms.Marvel.

Will Smith won best actor award at the 2022 Oscars. However he was banned by the Academy for slapping Chris Rock. His recent project as an actor includes the Antoine Fuqua-directed thriller Emancipation.
