HBO comedy drama 'The White Lotus' wraps up season 2 production in Italy

HBO comedy drama The White Lotus wrapped up the production of season two in Italy’s Lumina Studios, to the north of Rome.

According to Deadline, the show filmed season two mostly in San Domenico Palace, Taormina and around Sicily in the south of Italy.

They also filmed in Lumina, which recently signed a six-year strategic pact with resurgent Italian studio Cinecittà.

The second season of series is set to premiere in October, although the date hasn't been confirmed.

As per HBO, the second season will "follow a different group of vacationers as they jet to another White Lotus property and settle in temporarily amongst its inhabitants."

Aubrey Plaza, who is also appearing in the new season, spoke to Entertainment Tonight, "I know it’s a lot to live up to, but Mike [White] is so good about making the second season different. It’s still The White Lotus, but now it’s in Italy, so it has a totally different vibe and so, I think people are going to be surprised."

The White Lotus is an American comedy-drama anthology series, helmed by Mark White. It follows guests and employees of the fictional The White Lotus resort chain whose skeletons in the closet come out bare during their supposedly relaxing vacation.

The first season of The White Lotus was set in Hawaii and the second season in Sicily.
