'Squid Game' creator Hwang Dong-hyuk reveals he doesn't have roles for foreign actors in season two.

Squid Game director Hwang Dong-hyuk stated that he doesn’t plan to cast Hollywood actors in season two of the show, for which the script is in making.

After six consecutive wins at Emmys, a press conference was held in Seoul to celebrate the show’s achievement earlier this week.

During the conference, the director revealed "I don't have any plans to cast famous foreign stars in the second season of 'Squid Game,' and this will not change,"

He further continued "I'm now working on the script for the next season, and it is set in Korea. No foreign casting roles are available."

As per the reports of Yonhap News, Hwang Dong-hyuk had previously mentioned that Lee Jung Jae, the show’s lead character, will reprise his role in the upcoming season.

While the director made clear that there was no chance for foreign actors in season two, he also hinted towards the possibility of foreign actors to be casted in the potential third season of Squid Game.

"I could change my mind if a third season is produced, and its set is changed to a different country," the director shared, mentioning that the production for the second season will start in the next year for possible release in 2024.
