Comic, television writer David A. Arnold retires to rest at 54

Comic David A. Arnold has passed away at 54.

His family announced the news in a statement on Wednesday.

“It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother, and friend, David A. Arnold,” the statement read. 

“David passed away peacefully today in his home and doctors have ruled the cause of death due to natural causes. Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss.”

The showrunner of the beloved Nickelodeon series, That Girl Lay Lay, had a career breakthrough after doing gigs at comedy clubs for two decades. 

He then climbed up the ladder of success to become a television writer and wrote The Tony Rock Project, BET’s Bigger, and Nickelodeon’s Side Hustle.
