Kelsea Ballerini announces split from Morgan Evans in emotional post

Kelsea Ballerini has announced her split from Morgan Evans after five years of marriage.

“This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce,” the singer started off her statement posted on her Instagram story.

Prior to the announcement, there had been rumors of a split between the singers. However, there was no indication of bad blood between them whatsoever.

The Roses singer acknowledged that although she has always wanted to share notable parts of her life with fans in a “real and vulnerable way,” she has also been keen on protecting her dirty laundry from airing in the public.

Ballerini and Evans met in March 2016, when they hosted the Country Music Channel Awards in Australia together. Ballerini revealed they shared their first kiss that night.

Before the year ended they were engaged, with the two getting married in December 2017 in Cabo San Lucas.

“This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end,” the 28-year-old artist continued.

Ballerini expressed her gratitude “for the years of marriage to Morgan,” and hope for the “next seasons.”

“With very active schedules coming up, please be mindful that we are both fragile, actively healing, and showing up the best we can,” the pop star added.
