Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is finally available in theatres in North America and fans seemed to be satisfied with the ending.

The new film shifts the focus away from Goku and Vegeta and toward Gohan and Piccolo. It is a sequel of sorts to the Broly movie, which debuted in 2018.

Let's analyse the conclusion and where it fits into the wider Dragon Ball canon because there are some new intriguing details to go into.

Everything else largely lost the spotlight in the Dragon Ball Super series because Goku, Vegeta, and the tournament of power have dominated the plot. Now, that the Broly movie has been made canon, the Red Ribbon Army has returned, and Gohan and Piccolo have advanced.

Possibly the most anticipated scene in the film is when Gohan Beast appeared for the first time.

Earlier it was witnessed that Gohan was in his Potential Unleashed form, back in the Fusion Saga. Gohan was driven over the edge to activate the new form when he saw Piccolo on the verge of death.

It made people wonder if Piccolo planned that as well since he was fooling Gohan with the Pan shenanigans.

The entire battle was a reminder of Gohan and Cell in the Cell games, but with Piccolo instead of Goku. It's not replicated, but it was a cool representation of one of the biggest battles in the series.

In any case, it was a great sight to witness him in this new form, which was far more powerful than his Super Saiyan 2 form and has hair that resembled that form but was longer and tinged with silver.

Naturally, Piccolo's new "Super" Namekian transformation, which he called "Orange Piccolo," came next.

Not the most creative, but not incorrect either. Dende was visited by Piccolo to help him reach his full potential, but Piccolo advised using the Dragon Balls instead because of course they could.

Shenron assisted Piccolo in unlocking his potential and switching into his new form amid combat. On his back, just before the transition, one can see the Namekian Pride sign glowing.

This was a more advanced variation of his Potential Unleashed form, much like Gohan. Given their long-standing relationship throughout the series, it's very cool to watch both the pupil and the teacher level up in a similar manner.

Not to forget witnessing Gohan executing his final attack while fully utilising the Special Beam Cannon for the first time.

In the guise of Cell Max, Cell was kind of back in terms of using its Special Beam Cannon. We received more Cells and fresh androids.

Then there was Dr Hedo, Dr Gero's grandson, who developed Cell Max and the new androids Gamma 1 and 2. Following the tumultuous events of the final battle, people find him at the very end trying to turn himself in.

Last but not least, this film includes a post-credits sequence that depicts the conclusion of Goku and Vegeta's fight, which occurred off-screen during Piccolo and Gohan's excursion.
