JK Rowling turns to police amid online threat after Salman Rushdie attack

JK Rowling is kept under police protection after serious threat from an online user.

The Harry Potter author, who sent her thoughts over the attack on Salman Rushdie, received a threatening message on the internet.

Rowling admitted that she felt 'very sick' to hear about the NYC attack on Rushie and wishes the writer gets well soon.

Moments later, Ms Rowling turned to her Twitter again to share screenshots of a user who had written: "Don’t worry you are next"

“To all sending supportive messages: thank you Police are involved (were already involved on other threats)," added Ms Rowling.

The Police are now investigating the matter: "We have received a report of an online threat being made and officers are carrying out enquiries,"
