LAPD closes investigation on Anne Heche car accident after star dies

The Los Angeles Police Department has issued a statement confirming that the investigation of actress Anne Heche’s death from a cocaine-induced car crash has closed.

The Associated Press was confirmed by the LAPD that they were no longer investigating her death as the 53-year-old was declared dead a week after she crashed her car into a house which then burst into flames, injuring her.

The actress was later taken to the hospital when she went into a coma which she never woke up from.

It said in a statement: "As of today, there will be no further investigative efforts made in this case. Any information or records that have been requested prior to this turn of events will still be collected as they arrive as a matter of formalities and included in the overall case.

"When a person suspected of a crime expires, we do not present for filing consideration."
