Justin Bieber Denounced By European Rabbi

A well-known European rabbi mistook Justin Bieber's video for a Nazi salute and condemned him as a result.

The singer's Israeli promoters, however, denied the charge and insisted that the gesture was merely a dance step.

"Not everything has to do with the Jewish people," they stated in a statement.

When Bieber, 28, started marching across the stage with his hand up while doing a performance in front of 20,000 fans in Helsinki, Finland, it was compared to the seig heil salute given by goose-stepping Nazi soldiers.

"The famous singer slapped the faces of millions of Jews across the world when he chose to perform the ‘sieg heil’ movement that symbolizes identification with Nazi party values," Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the Conference of European Rabbis, said.

In response to Bieber's "disgraceful" behaviour, he urged the Israeli authorities to halt the pop singer's planned concert.

On October 13, the Yummy singer will play in Tel Aviv.

"It is unthinkable that a singer with tens of millions of fans and followers around the world allows himself to adopt such conduct on European soil soaked with the blood of millions of Jews and other minorities, who were brutally murdered by the Nazi oppressor," the rabbi said.

Similar marches by Bieber at previous concerts have been captured on camera.

The action, known as a "stomp," was a part of what appeared to be an inside joke between the artist and his army of fervent followers.

The organisation hosting Justin Bieber's concert in Israel claimed that the moves had nothing to do with the Nazis.

"These are dance moves…Dance moves are meant to entertain. Not everything has to do with the Jewish people, with all the love we have for ourselves," a representative of Nidar Oz Communications clarified.
