Keanu Reeves signs Devil in the White City with Hulu

Keanu Reeves, Hulu announced recently during its Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour that the John Wick actor will star in the limited series Devil in the White City.

Erik Larson's 2003 best-seller adaption has received a series order, and Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will serve as executive producers.

In Devil in the White City, Daniel H. Burnham, a demanding but talented architect vying to leave his imprint on the world, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, America's first modern serial killer and the mastermind behind the "Murder Castle" close to the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, are both real-life characters.

No specifics about Reeves' character in the drama have been released.

The adaptation was first announced by Hulu in 2019 with Scorsese and DiCaprio attached to produce. Reeves was said to be in talks to star in January 2022. For Appian Way Productions, Stacey Sher, Rick Yorn (Heels), Jennifer Davisson (Shining Girls), and Leonardo DiCaprio serve as executive producers alongside Scorsese and DiCaprio (Mrs. America, Pulp Fiction, Erin Brockovich).

Sam Shaw of Castle Rock will pen the script, Little Children's Todd Field will helm it, and Keanu Reeves will co-executive produce in addition to acting in it. Devil in the White City is the production of ABC Signature in collaboration with Paramount.
