Warner Bros. announces Joker movie release date

The sequel to the blockbuster 2019 film, Joker finally has a release date.

Joaquin Phoenix will return to the big screen in Joker: Folie à Deux as Batman’s infamous enemy on October 04, 2024.

The release date will mark five years since its first installment and will bring back Todd Phillips as the director. Phillips has also co-written the screenplay with Scott Silver.

Warner Bros. announced the release date Wednesday on the heels of news that the studio has scrapped its $90 million-budgeted Batgirl, despite the DC film being nearly complete.

The follow-up to the 2019's hit will be a musical, with none otthan Lady Gaga expected to play Harley Quinn.

The 2019 R-rated success generated more than $1 billion globally and earned Phoenix an Oscar.
