American professional tennis player Venus Williams, who had no plans of playing at Wimbledon this year, got persuaded by the atmosphere around the grass court grand slam.
The 42-year-old has not played in competitively for a year but this time has kicked in to perform at the mixed doubles in a wild card entry with Jamie Murray.
This popular pairing was taken in a good light by fans around cheering in for them.
In a recent announcement Venus said, "I had no plan to play. I saw the grass and I got excited."
"I was at the French Open, it's a beautiful event, but my heart didn't beat the same way. Not that I could play but ... I had no plans. That's why I was asking (Murray) last minute."
She added, "It's one of the only ones I haven't won, so I usually put a little more priority here."
Venus signed off, "It was definitely super last minute. Just inspired by Serena. Like I said, it was amazing. I just was so happy to have so much help today."
Throughout her career, Venus won women's single title five times and the doubles title six times.
