Elliot Page was invited at Late Night With Seth Meyers, where he spoke about how his transition from female to male was incorporated in his new show The Umbrella Academy.
Page, who previously played Vanya Hargreeves - now Viktor Hargreeves - on the Netflix show since its premiere in 2019, came out as transgender in December 2020.
The show has since filmed its new third season and while the trailer incorporated little on Page's character, he has shared that Viktor, like him, will undergo a transition in the show.
During the Tuesday night broadcast of the show, host Meyer asked Page about how much of a role he got to play in crafting the story behind his revamped character.
He shared that showrunner Steve Blackman "seemed really excited about incorporating [Page’s transition] into the show."
In March, Page revealed his character’s transition on social media.
"Meet Viktor Hargreeves," Page wrote, along with a first-look photo.
Netflix followed up with a retweet of Page's post, writing, "Welcome to the family, Viktor — we’re so happy you’re here."
The Umbrella Academy season three premiered on June 22 on Netflix.
