Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Ending Explained

Everything you need to know about the ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is detailed here, along with some insight on the blonde hair, purple outfit character that appeared at the end of the movie.

A triumphant Doctor Strange is walking through the West Village at the very end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when suddenly he experiences excruciating pain in his forehead. Screaming, he collapses to the ground and shows the third eye on his forehead, just like the evil Strange he fought in the demolished dimension.

But now that the Darkhold has been destroyed, what does this mean? Why is Strange still corrupted? That’s something maybe a sequel will tell us.

However, there is still one more shock to come, and it will have significant implications for the future of Marvel movies.

In a scene that appears after the credits, Strange is once more strolling around the West Village, obviously over his third eye episode, when a woman approaches him. It's none other than Charlize Theron who plays Clea, the fiery-haired daughter of Dormammu from the first Doctor Strange film.

She is, at the very least, Dormammu's daughter in the comics.

She appears in the scene brandishing an energy knife and telling the bewildered Strange, "You caused an Incursion, and we’re gonna fix it”. She then uses the blade to cut a direct path through reality to Dormammu's home dimension, the Dark Dimension. Unless you're afraid, she asks. Strange dons his superhero attire and responds, "Not in the least." They then leap inside the portal as a group.
