Johnny Depp recently took to his Instagram to warn his fans about imposters pretending to be him on social media.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star posted a lengthy note on his Instagram story – which he later put under a Highlight title "PSA".

He wrote that he had been recently been made aware of the fake accounts impersonating him and his team.

"I do not have any private or side accounts on any platforms. These are the only pages run by me and my team where we share updates and communicate," he added, listing his official accounts across several platforms.

"I ask that you remain cautious as it seems these fake accounts can be relentless. My team is working to combat the problem. Thank you for your continued support and for making me aware of this issue! Love & respect, JD X."

The 59-year-old actor has been making headlines since he sued his former wife Amber Heard in a defamation case. The trial commenced this April and was won by Depp after the jury announced the verdict in his favor in May.

Since then, he has been on a tour with rock musician and his friend, Jeff Beck.
