Twitch users left torn after streaming service announces major change

Twitch has left its users torn after it announced that it is removing the Friends feature from its live streaming experience.

Stating that the lack of use has caused the streaming platform to revoke this feature that has left both viewers and streamers divided.

In a statement they clarified that "by deprecating this feature, we are able to further focus on building connections among communities while streamers are live."

The last day for the Friends list feature will be on May 16 on mobile and May 25 onsite.

After the removal of the feature, there will be restrictions around the Whisper messaging system on Twitch.
