Popular television broadcaster Richard Madeley admits not being sure of his future in the show Good Morning Britain as he takes over Piers Morgan’s slot.

Despite being a permanent fixture, he is often replaced by Adil Ray or Richard Bacon.

The star joined hands with Susanna Reid to present the show as a guest host, Monday to Wednesday every week.

In a chat with Kate Thornton at the White Wine Question Time podcast, about the new challenge without a wife, he said, "In terms of what I do on my own, which at the moment is Good Morning Britain, although who knows how long that will go on for."

He continued, "I do it month to month at the moment and I'm very happy to. I quite like operating at that level. I've had my main career curve. I'm not seeking another huge career arch.

Signing off he stated, "We'll see what happens, but I enjoy it, I enjoy doing it."

Today, Richard reported solo from the studio while Susanna came live from the Poland-Ukraine border.
