Peter Dinklage talks about being cast as romantic lead in film 'Cyrano'

Star Peter Dinklage found himself stuck in a romantic character role in the film Cyrano and opened about it in a chat. 

The actor believes that the Hollywood industry is seeing a big change in the idea of a leading man.

In an interview with British newspaper, The Times, Dinklage talked about his character saying, “I did a role usually limited to handsome actors. Nine times out of 10, Cyrano is played by a handsome actor with a fake nose and you know that he takes it off when they wrap.”

“The idea of a leading actor is changing now. Whether racially or whatever. It’s about time,” he added.

Elaborating on essaying romantic roles, he stated, “only pretty people are supposed to fall in love. We’ve been stuck with this stereotype of a leading man and it’s healthy to open that up. Love life is not the domain of pretty people--everybody has a love life.”

Dinklage found superstardom through the very much watched series Game of Thrones.
