The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has turned 40-years-old today. To mark the occasion, the official 'Duke and Duchess of Cambridge' social media account released some stunning portraits of Kate, leaving fans in awe.
Celebrating her big day, Kate, who is also a mother of three, paid a touching tribute to the most iconic Royal women in history including the British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, her late mother-in-law Princess Diana with her new birthday portraits.
The duchess shared a monochrome portrait on the official Twitter and Instagram handles with a sweet caption. “Delighted to share a new portrait of The Duchess ahead of her 40th birthday tomorrow.”
The black-and-white portrait is sweet nod to late Princess of Wales, Princess Diana as she flaunted her late mother-in-law’s diamond and pearl drop earrings and the iconic sapphire engagement ring.
In the other portrait, Kate wore a red satin one-shoulder gown with a gorgeous pair of diamond drop earrings that belong to Queen Elizabeth.
The stunning portraits will be added to the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, and were taken at Kew Gardens in November by fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.
