Sidney Poitier, Hollywood's first Black movie star has died at the old age of 94 and the news left his fans shaken.
Poitier’s death was confirmed by Eugene Torchon-Newry, the acting director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Coming from an extremely poor family in the Bahamas the legendary star rose to the pinnacle of fame with his hard work and sweat.
He earned an oscar for his incredible performance in the 1963’s Lilies of the Field.
Interestingly, Poitier chose his characters with care.
His death has sent shockwaves to the Hollywood industry and he will surely be missed for his amazing contribution towards the English cinema.
