MTV VMAs: Lorde to miss out on performance at award show

The MTV Video Music Awards 2021 announced the sad news that singer Lorde would no longer be performing at the award show due to ‘change in production elements.’

Taking to twitter the VMA’s confirmed the news but did not provide any details regarding the new developments.

Taking to their official twitter handle, the VMA’s tweeted, “Due to a change in production elements, Lorde can no longer perform at this year’s show. We love Lorde and cannot wait for her to perform on the VMA stage in the future.”

Fans expressed deep sadness, hopelessness and disappointment at the new decision and urged Lorde to come forward and reveal her take on the matter.

It was hard to digest the announcement for some of her fans as her new album Solar Power became a huge hit and had been chosen for the Best Cinematography so there could be no way she could miss out on such an opportunity.

Recently, it was announced that Say So singer Doja Cat will host the show this year.

Other famed singers of the industry would be performing at the award show, such as Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Kacey Musgraves, Lil Nas X, Machine Gun Kelly, Doja Cat, Twenty One Pilots, and Chloe.

To those unversed, the award show will be held in Barclay’s Centre in New York City on September 12-13.
