Queen Elizabeth's love for dogs might be known to many, but the fact that she has created an entirely new breed is a lesser-known fact.

The Queen takes credit for creating a hybrid between dachshund and the corgi, called dorgi right after Princess Margaret's dachshund Pipkin mated with the monarch's corgis.

An experiment that rather proved successful, caused the royal to breed their own little army of furballs.

Over the year, the family welcomed Cider, Rum, Berry, Candy, Brandy, Chipper, Harris, Pickles, Piper, Tinker and Vulcan.

Not to mention, the 95-year-old monarch is also the Patron of the Dogs Trust dog welfare organization in the U.K.
