It’s been 20 years.

Actor Anne Hathaway celebrated the two decades of one of the most iconic coming-of-age teen movies of all time— The Princess Diaries. She took to her official IG handle to mark the day by honoring her costars Julie Andrews, Mandy Moore, Heather Matarazzo, Sandra Oh, Larry Miller, and director Garry Marshall.

Anne posted a throwback black and white photograph of embracing Julie and Garry on the set twenty years ago and along with it, she penned down a nostalgic caption to explain how much the film means to her.

"Miracles happen … Happy 20th Birthday to #theprincessdiaries, AKA the film that launched a thousand sleep overs.”

The Princess Diaries was a royal tale that garnered a massive fandom after its debut in 2001. The success was so humongous that it inspired a sequel three years later: The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004).

Anne has a soft spot for her character Mia Thermopolis and has previously opened up about knowing in her bones that her character and the film would be a hit. She told PEOPLE in 2019: "Getting the script, it just had that feeling. ... I touched it, and it was electric."

"Getting to make it and be on set every day, I got to hug Julie Andrews every day," Anne added. "That part was also very, very, very magical. Then it came out and it was received. That part even, by the way, was magical."
