Blake Shelton says he's 'Proud' to be Gwen Stefani's husband

Country star Blake Shelton went all out on his wedding. During a conversation with Storme Warren from SiriusXM, Blake confessed that he considers himself lucky and is “proud” to be married to his wife Gwen Stefani and revealed that he penned down a song dedicated solely to her. Blake performed the song on their wedding day.

Even though he may be a little out of practice when it comes to writing songs, Blake did his vows in the most poetic way ever. He opened up about how Gwen unconsciously pushed her to pick up the pen and write again.

"As soon as I knew that [we were writing our own vows], I started trying to write a song because that's the opposite of what she would have expected me to do," he shared. "I'm to the point where I just don't write that many songs anymore. It's just like pulling teeth for me and something she's always on my case about it."

Blake didn’t do it alone, he asked for the help of his old friend and added, "And so I started writing this song and I can only get so far with it, 'cause I didn't want it to just be something for that moment. I wanted it to be something that was bigger and I saw I needed help. And so I called Craig Wiseman. I said, 'Craig, you got to help me with this thing. Like, I'm not joking around here.' You know?"

Craig and Blake put their heads together to work up a song for Gwen that he "wouldn't be embarrassed about." He shared that he wanted the song to be broader in context but "also specific to Gwen."

"I'm proud to be married to Gwen and so proud of that song," Blake added.
