‘Stand Up To Cancer': Reese Witherspoon, husband Jim Toth talk about co-producing cancer fundraiser telecast

Actress Reese Witherspoon revealed she is the executive producer of the show Stand Up To Cancer along with her husband Jim Toth.

The main goal of the show is to collect funds for cancer patients to aid in their early diagnosis and treatment.

In a statement via the Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon said, “Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the U.S. and the leading cause in Canada.”

She further added, “Cancer institutes, doctors and scientists have worked enough to improve treatment facilities and there are still many who have had personal experiences with the treatment and seek immediate treatment.”

On the other hand, Reese’s husband Jim Toth shared, “Having lost my father to this disease, it is a privilege for us to continue to support the important work of Stand Up To Cancer as co-producers of the telecast.”

Other co-producers of the show who will join in as hosts include Sophia Vergara, Anthony Anderson, Ken Jeong and wife Tran Ho.

The Modern Family alum Sophia stated, “The most important part of cancer diagnosis is catching the disease early, people should be equipped with proper resources for early detection.”

The show Stand Up To Cancer Special will be telecast from Los Angeles and 60 media platforms will join in from USA and Canada.

This will be the show’s 7th televised episode.
