Frankie Grande is engaged to Hale Leon after dating for two years

Frankie Grande and Hale Leon are getting married!

The Broadway star Frankie Grande popped the big question to his boyfriend of two years Hale Leon with an elaborate VR proposal on June 8th in front of all of their close friends and family members.

Frankie’s four years of being sober will be complete on June 16th. In order to catch the love of his life off guard, the 38-year-old activist convinced Hale that they were meeting with friends to celebrate the four years of sobriety. However, the whole plan was to set up a surprise for Hale.

The night of the proposal was carefully planned by Frankie who popped the question at the site of one of the duo’s most memorable first date night— Dreamscape, an immersive VR adventure venue in LA. The Rainbowthon host, who works at the company, created a custom specified ending for the couple at Frankie’s request. At the end of the adventure, he completed with a “Will you marry me?" question, and that’s when the virtual fireworks went off.

"It was such a perfect, beautiful moment," Frankie told PEOPLE. "Hale was completely surprised and we both started crying tears of joy. I have been working on proposing to him in virtual reality for over a year and it was ABSOLUTELY breathtaking for us both."
