Ellen DeGeneres to end talk show after 19 years, says she needs ‘break from talking’

Popular American TV host Ellen DeGeneres is all set to end her daytime talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show after 19 seasons. On Wednesday, in the teaser of the upcoming episode of the show, DeGeneres has now revealed how season 19 will be the final one.

According to reports by The Hollywood Reporter, the TV host, 63, said that she was moving on because the program was "just not a challenge anymore."

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” she said in the interview.

She further revealed that she always knew in her heart that Season 19 would be her last. Speaking about how she decided to wrap up the show, DeGeneres mentioned, "You may wonder why I’ve decided to end after 19 seasons. The truth is, I always trust my instincts. My instinct told me it’s time."

The famous host will discuss more about her decision on Thursday's show with guest Oprah Winfrey.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show debuted in 2003 and has won more than 60 Emmy awards.
