Joshua Bassett pens note on love and sexuality: 'love who you love shamelessly'

Joshua Basset is opening about love and sexuality after fans believe the actor came out as a member of the LGBTQ community.

The High School Musical star, 20, wrote about his sexuality in a lengthy letter on Twitter Tuesday.

“my entire life people have told me my sexuality,” he began.

Bassett wrote that "people have shamed me for things they know nothing about. I want to say thank you to those of you who stand for love and acceptance.”

“it’s 2021. we are the generation of love & growth, it’s time we start acting like it," he claimed.

“whether you love me, hate me, or damn me to hell, i love you all the same,” he concluded. “love who you love shamelessly. it’s ok to still be figuring out who you are. life’s too short to let ignorance and hatred win. i choose love.” 

During an interview with Clevver News, the Limbo star was asked, “What is it about Harry Styles that you admire?”

Replying to the question, the actor was quick to dub the singer as “classy,” “well-rounded,” “hot” and “very charming.”

“I guess this is also my coming out video?” quipped Bassett in the interview.
