Shawn Mendes comes forward to help the needy in India

Singer Shawn Mendes recently decided to take an initiative to help those in need in India. The young artist took to his social media account to make a critical request to his followers and asked them to donate any amount of money they can towards India.

The Treat You Better singer posted a video and addressed the situation by admitting that the condition right now is “heartbreaking." Especially since an overwhelming number of Covid-19 cases are coming in per day, while many still go unreported.

He encouraged everyone to help in whatever capacity they can and employed the use of pathos to make this happen.

"If you've ever been touched by India's culture or India's people, just donate or share, or anything you can do to help," he said in the video.

For those unaware, the second wave of Coronavirus has enveloped India in the most dreadful manner. Each passing day, there is a rise of new cases with an incredible lack of resources including oxygen tanks, hospital beds, etc.

In times like this, many celebrities have come forward to take the initiatives to help India. Apart from Canadian singer Shawn Mendes — Ellen DeGeneres, Lana Condor, Jada Pinkett Smith, Richard Madden, Lilly Singh, and Kunal Nayyar have also addressed the situation in India and have tried to come to aid India in these hard times.
