Halle Berry shows off long hairstyle after viral memes about her 2021 Oscars bob cut

Hollywood actress Halle Berry took the internet by storm on Sunday, after she showed her shocking new look on the Oscars red carpet.

The Monster Ball actress walked up the red carpet of the 93rd Academy Awards, donning a brunette bob haircut and baby bangs.

She opted for a gorgeous purple Dolce & Gabbana gown for the occasion. However, it was her new hair style that grabbed all the attention.

The look caused quite the social media stir and it wasn’t long before memes surfaced of her latest hairstyle. Berry used emoticons, including tears of joy, to retweet one person's video from Oscar's night showing a man appearing to wear -- and shake -- a bob wig that the original person tweeting captioned "halle berry tonight."

Berry, 54, responded the negative comments with laughs, and even participated in poking a little fun at herself. She shared the below video on Twitter, and even thanked her fans for the funny memes:

But on Friday, the Perfect Stranger posted a new sun kissed selfie of her smiling face and her flowing, long caramel hair on Instagram. Much a relief for her fans, the actress joked about getting a hair cut for the occasion and fooled her fans.

In the caption, she wrote, “Oscar bob… just kidding,” along with another laughing-crying face emoticon.

Earlier, the Kidnap actress had also posted an Instagram story of chunks of hair on the ground, indicating that she got a cut for the occasion.

Fans were pleased to know that she joked about her hair cut. Commenting on her latest post, one user wrote, “Don’t ever do that again.” While another said, “Of course! I didn’t believe it for a second!” As one follower sweetly remarked, “U look gorgeous with any hair style.”
