Rudin, The Truman Show producer, apologized for his mistakes and vowed to work towards rectifying his mistakes.

Movie and theatre producer Scott Rudin announced that he is stepping down from the industry for an undefined amount of time after facing a backlash for abuse allegations.

On Tuesday, The Social Network producer issued a statement through NBC that he is taking some time off from Hollywood to work on some "personal issues."

The statement read: "I am stepping back from my film and streaming projects in addition to my work on Broadway. I am doing so to take the time to work on personal issues I should have long ago."

Only three days prior to this statement, the 62-year-old producer announced that he was stepping down from Broadway, with no mention of the film industry. Rudin confided in NBC then that he was taking these steps due to his "history of troubling interactions with colleagues.”

“I am now taking steps that I should have taken years ago to address this behaviour," he added.

Fast forward to three days, he explained why he’s stepping down from the film industry as well. On April 20th, in his statement, he said: "When I commented over the weekend, I was focused on Broadway reopening successfully and not wanting my previous behavior to detract from everyone's efforts to return. It's clear to me I should take the same path in film and streaming.”

Rudin, The Truman Showproducer, apologized for his mistakes and vowed to work towards rectifying his mistakes.

“I am profoundly sorry for the pain my behaviour has caused and I take this step with a commitment to grow and change."

Many of Rudin’s former co-workers talked to The Hollywood Reporter about their traumatizing encounters with the said alleged abuser. Megan Ellison retweeted the claims of alleged abuse and instances of violent behaviour against Rudin and wrote, "barely scratches the surface of Scott Rudin's abusive, racist, and sexist behaviour."

Scott Rudin had some big upcoming projects lined up for him. These projects starred Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Saoirse Ronan. With him stepping down, there’s no certainty if the production of these projects will be affected in any way,
