Queen Elizabeth II will be celebrating her 95th birthday on Wednesday, however, the occasion will not be the same as previous years, following the death of her husband of 73 years, Prince Phillips.
Her Majesty is mourning the loss of her husband, after he died at age 99 on April 9. According to People magazine’s reports, on the occasion of Queen’s 95th birthday, there will not be a portrait of the Queen released this year.
While the celebrations will be very muted, members of the royal family will likely visit the Queen to ensuring that the royal highness does not feel alone on her big day.
A source told Mirror, "The Queen will not be alone. She will have others who care about her deeply and want to be there to support her in her most pressing hour.
"In typical fashion, the Queen has insisted she is coping and despite the suggestion she had prepared herself for this day to come, everyone is well aware there is nothing like the experience when it comes."
Media reports have suggested that Prince Harry might extend his trip beyond his grandmother’s birthday.
