Nicolas Cage marries for fifth time, ties the knot with 26-year-old Riko Shibata

Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage has been married to his girlfriend Riko Shibata last month, in an intimate ceremony at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.

The media outlet People confirmed the actor’s statement, who got married for the fifth time. “It’s true, and we are very happy,” he said in a statement.

The couple tied the knot on February 16 in a small ceremony, a date chosen to honor the birthday of the groom’s late father. The news of their wedding was broken on media on Friday.

In the wedding pictures, the newly-wed couple, Riko, 26, wore a beautiful handmade bridal kimono from Kyoto. While, the 53-year-old groom opted for tux was by Tom Ford. The couple exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with readings of Walt Whitman poetry and Japanese haiku, sprinkled in.

The wedding was attended by close friends and family members, including Cage’s ex-wife Alice Kim and Cage’s son Kal.

The Face/Off actor met his love, Riko met in Shiga, Japan, shortly after the dissolution of his last marriage, to Erika Koike. The marriage was called off after four days in 2019.

On screen, Cage was most recently seen in Netflix’s History of Swear Words. He will be next seen in Amazon’s forthcoming scripted adaptation of the wildlife saga, in which he will be playing the Tiger King Joe Exotic.
