Lana Del Rey appeared in an interview with UK magazine Mojo and talked about how Amy Winehouse’s passing affected her.

While talking about Winehouse’s death in 2011 due to alcohol toxicity, the 35-year-old said, “I lived in a [explicit] flat with no heat”.

At that time, Del Rey had just shifted to London with Ben Mawson to pursue her career in music.

The Summertime Sadness singer shared, “They told me [my apartment] was on Camden Road near where Amy Winehouse used to play at the Roundhouse and I loved Amy. I loved Amy”.

She went on, “I had 10 seconds of the most elated feeling and then the news [was] everywhere. On all the televisions, [it was announced] that Amy had died on her front steps and I was like ‘no. No!'. Everyone was watching mesmerized, but I personally felt like I didn't even want to sing anymore”.

Amy passed away in bed after alcohol toxicity. Three bottles of vodka were also found in her room.
