The much-awaited action-packed film of the year, Fast & Furious 9 has been once again delayed for its release. The Universal Studios has announced the latest release date of the ninth installment of the action franchise by one month until June 25. on Thursday.
The latest decision has come in the light by the studios who have been still trying to manage the large numbers of audiences will go to the theatres, as the Reuters reported.
According to the studios, they do not plan to release their most expensive action releases until they can draw large crowds to recoup production and marketing costs.
The upcoming F9, which stars Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, had originally been slated for release in April 2019 but has been postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.
Other than F9, the next big-budget action movie on the Hollywood schedule, Walt Disney Co’s Marvel movie Black Widow, is currently set to hit theatres on May 7.
Other films currently planned for summer include Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise, and Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, both in July.
