Vanessa Bryant calls out Evan Rachel over ‘defamatory’ tweet about late Kobe

Last year, in January, Evan Rachel Wood tweeted hours after Kobe Bryant’s death and claimed that he was a rapist. However, his wife Vanessa Bryant read the tweet after a year and lashed out at Wood for being insensitive.

Rachel’s tweet read as, “What has happened is tragic. I am heartbroken for Kobe’s family. He was a sports hero. He was also a rapist. And all of these truths can exist simultaneously”.

However, the 38-year-old took to Instagram on Saturday and called out Wood after reading her tweet.

Vanessa wrote, “Your false, insensitive, defamatory and slanderous tweet on 1/26/20 is vile and disturbing, to say the least. Behavior like this is part of the reason why innocent black men go to jail for crimes they didn’t commit. An accusation doesn’t make someone guilty”.

“YOU DON’T KNOW THE FACTS OF THE CASE,” she added.

In 2003, late Kobe was accused of sexual harassment by a hotel employee, 19, working in Colorado.

The charges against Los Angeles Laker were dropped because the accuser did not testify, later she brought a civil case against Bryant in 2005 which was settled out of the court.
