Meghan Markle, Prince Harry will have to let go of their royal titles

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been criticized again as they did not follow the strict demands of letting their royal titles go. The couple has been slammed for misusing their royal titles for making profit.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be visiting UK after a year of Megxit. The visit holds great importance as the Megxit deal will be reviewed by the Queen Elizabeth.

Ahead of their visit, Harry and Meghan have been asked to resign from their titles, or face serious consequences.

The royal author Phil Dampier commented on the situation as he told the Daily Telegraph, “It’s obvious Harry and Meghan are not coming back, and have very much made their life in America, so the best thing for all is for a line to be drawn.”

“I think they should volunteer to renounce, or at least not use, their ducal titles, so they face no further criticism of cashing in,” he added.

Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties in January 2020. They moved from UK to USA and currently, have been living in California with their 13-months-old son Archie

As part of the couple's Megxit agreement with the Queen last year, Meghan and Harry retained their His/Her Highness titles. However, the two of them do not use their titles anymore.

As per the statement released from Sussex spokesperson at the time of their departure from royal family. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain members of the Royal Family and remain named and titled, as such. As explained in the January announcement, from Spring they will formally retain their titles of 'His/Her Royal Highness' but no longer actively use their 'HRH's," the statement released by Buckingham Palace in March 2020.
