Melania Trump speaks for first time after Capitol Hill riots

On Monday, Melania Trump made a public statement about US Capitol Riots but she did not accuse her husband Donald Trump for the hatred he incited.

The 50-year-old wrote, “disappointed and disheartened with what happened last week”. She further went on and urged US citizens to “stop the violence, never make assumptions based on the color of a person's skin or use differing political ideologies as a basis for aggression and viciousness”.

Last week, five people died in Capitol riots, people have been calling out President Trump for inciting the riots.

As perCNN, the first lady was looking after a photo shoot during the Capitol riots. However, she addressed this and said "I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me – from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda”.

“This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain,” she added.
