Even though celebrities and influencers are attempting to ‘normalize’ breastfeeding, there is still a select group of people in the modern world who consider it a heinous, shameful and disgusting taboo.

As a mother to two daughters Kristen Bell is one celebrity who has never shied away from sharing all aspects of motherhood. Even as far back as 2013, the actress shared how she fulfills her ‘mommy duties’ ahead of going on stage to host the CMT Music Awards.

From then on the actress has been a stanch advocate for breast feeding and has continued to showcase her displeasure towards all those who make a fuss over children ‘having a meal’.

During an interview with People, Kristen claimed, “its boobs. It’s another part of your body that has skin. Boobs don’t provide the shock and awe to me that they do for some people. It’s comical that people are against feeding in public.”

This is also not the first time she openly discussed her views on breastfeeding during an interview either. Back in 2017 she told CafeMom, that there is nothing anyone can do which will deter her from feeding her child in public if need be. “If it makes you uncomfortable, it’s your responsibility to move away, not mine to cover up. I don’t care where I’m breastfeeding. It never crossed my mind. What crossed my mind is: ‘Was my child hungry?’”.

For world breastfeeding day, Kristen also shared a rather painful experience she faced with mastitis, which is an inflammation of the milk ducts.

She reiterated upon the time she was stuck in Atlanta and had no access to a doctor so in order to stop the pain, she asked her husband to find some way to take the milk out of her body.

Kristen claimed, “So I said to my husband, ‘I’m going to need you to suck this out. We can talk about it, we can be weird about it, or you can just go ahead and do it'”
